Presence Report
PresenceReportBot
PresenceReportBot is the website reader behind Presence Report. It visits a business’s own website when someone requests a report about that business, reads a few public pages, and leaves.
How to recognise it
It sends this user-agent:

- robots.txt first, and it obeys it (RFC 9309). If robots.txt cannot be fetched or the server errors, it treats the site as closed and fetches nothing else; a site with no robots.txt (HTTP 404) is treated as open.
- The home page linked from the business’s Google listing.
- Up to 4 more pages linked from the home page: about, services or menu, contact and FAQ. Nothing else, and never pages behind a login.
It does not run JavaScript, keep cookies, fill in forms, log in or try to get past a challenge page, firewall or CAPTCHA. A site that blocks it is simply reported as “not measured”, never as a low score.
How often and how fast
- One request at a time: at most 6 requests per scan (robots.txt, the home page and up to 4 pages), plus up to 5 redirects per page.
- Each request stops after 10 seconds or 1.5 MB, and a whole scan after 45 seconds.
- A business is normally scanned at most once in 30 days; repeat requests reuse the saved result.
- Separately, a report may include a Google PageSpeed test of the home page. That request comes from Google’s own servers, not from PresenceReportBot.
How to stop it
Add this to your site’s robots.txt:

Disallow: /If you have a Presence Report link for your business, the Remove this business link at the bottom of the report withdraws it and stops future scans. Every report also has a Correct something link.
